<< BackKappa Sig: What True Brotherhood Is
Thanks to Bob Soderholm '59 for participating in this Q&A...
What is your best memory from your fraternity days?
The rock, from the small one that seemed to travel regularly around the campus before disappearing to big one our neighbors to the one that’s in front of the house now.
Why did you join Kappa Sig during your college years?
My brother was a Kappa Sig and I felt most at home there.
What is the biggest thing you feel you learned from your Kappa Sig experience?
What true brotherhood is.
How would your life be different today if you had never joined Kappa Sig?
No idea, but I joined so it doesn’t matter.
What's new in your life today?
Retired from McDonnell Douglas 15 years ago and failed retirement three times so far. Currently doing contract work for Boeing. Married and have four children (two boys and two girls) and five grandchildren all spread over four time zones, none in my own. Oldest son is enroute to his next assignment (Navy) in Japan after which he’ll be able to retire. When your kids start retiring you know you’re getting up there. Attended my 50-year reunion and missed connecting with more of the brothers.
Why do you financially support the Alpha Tau chapter in your alumni years?
To help preserve the order. Can’t believe the “pit” is still there and has actually been improved. Enjoyed the visit.
